How to get a transcript from an Instagram Reel
It turns an Instagram video to text straight from the link. No app, no download, no login.

Copy the Reel link
In the Instagram app, tap the paper plane icon under the Reel, then Copy link. On instagram.com, open the Reel and copy the link at the top of the window.

Is this Instagram transcript generator free?
Yes. There’s no payment and no login. To keep it fast for everyone, each visitor has a daily limit.
Does it work if the Reel has no captions?
Yes. The tool doesn’t rely on captions. It listens to the audio and writes out what is said.
How long can the video be?
Up to two minutes. Longer videos can’t be transcribed yet.
Can I transcribe a carousel post?
Yes. If a post has several videos, each one gets its own transcript, labeled Video 1, Video 2 and so on.
What if the Reel only has music?
The tool writes down what it hears. A Reel with a song and no talking may give you the song lyrics instead of a spoken script.
Can I get a transcript from a private account?
No. It only works with posts that anyone can see on Instagram without logging in.
Does it work with Stories or live videos?
Not yet. It works with Reels and video posts.
Can I get timestamps or an SRT file?

Which languages does it support?
You get the transcript in the language spoken in the video. The tool doesn’t translate it.
How long does it take?
Usually somewhere between a few seconds and half a minute, depending on the video.
Can I reuse the script from someone else’s Reel?
Use it to learn what works, then write your own version. Copying another creator’s words as they are may infringe their rights.
